You’ll need a Decision in Principle first

Before you apply for a mortgage, you’ll need to get a Decision in Principle (DIP).

A Decision in Principle lasts for 90 days. After this, you’ll need to renew it.

If you have a DIP, you can continue to your full mortgage application. Please read the important information on this page before you apply.

Conveyancing
When you apply for a mortgage or a remortgage, you need to appoint a conveyancer. These are solicitors who can act on your behalf when you take out a mortgage. You can complete your application form without one. If you need help you can use our conveyancing service.
What happens next with your application
We’ll do what we can to get you a formal mortgage offer quickly.

Here are a few ways you can help speed things up.
